    The Louise Massey Shorts download OK, but these come in as separate data files. I tried downloading them twice.

    I have the same problem as KL from NYC.

    The Louise Massey Shorts downloaded fine, but the Spade Cooley short unzips as five individual data folders: CDI, EXT, SEGMENT, MPEGAV, and VCD, none of which contain anything which can be played.

    Is there any program which could merge these pieces into a playable .mpg or .avi?

    FLV TO AVI IS A GOOD CONVERTING PROG THAT CAN CONVERT MANY FILES, IT'S A FREE PROG! IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT LET ME KNOW

    I finally found out how to play this file and the solution couldn't have been simpler - no conversion program is needed.

    Just find the AVSEQ01.DAT file in the MPEGAV folder. Ignore the files in the other folders - you won't need them.

    Rename this file to AVSEQ01.MPG and it will play just fine as a .mpg file in VLC Player, Windows Media Player, or Media Player Classic.
